Context-aware applications, which consist of a sensor system, a reasoning system and service artifacts such as mobile devices, kiosks and robots, require data from the sensors to be queried on a continuous basis. The smaller the sensing interval and the greater the amount of service time, the more accurate the service, but the more energy is consumed. Thus, use of context-aware applications always involves a trade-off. In this paper, we propose an automatic method of optimizing the level of personalization involving the sensing cycle and service time of a personalized application. The method proposes a quadratic form of total cost curve which demonstrated that the minimum identified value is always the global optimum. This eliminates the necessity of an exhaustive search for the minimum value for all levels of personalization. 相似文献

This paper proposes a new model for optimally allocating Plug–in Electric Vehicle (PEV) Charging Stations (CSs) in the network. The model considers Trip Success Ratio (TSR) in order to enhance CS accessibility for PEV drivers. Diversity of usage and different driving habits are considered in the presented model, as well as different trip types (In-city, Highway). The allocation model has two stages: modeling TSR to estimate Charging Station Service Range (CSSR), and the CS allocation stage. In the first stage, the service range of charging stations has been estimated using TSR with consideration of the uncertainty of trip distances (In-city, Highway) and the uncertainty in the Remaining Electric Range (RER) of PEVs. The estimated CSSR is utilized in the CS allocation stage in order to optimize the CS location set that covers the network with a certain guaranteed TSR level. The allocation problem has been formulated as the Maximum Covering Location Problem (MCLP) in order to make the optimal decision for allocating CSs in the network. 相似文献

Tunnels typically comprise large scale infrastructure projects, where a demand for an increased service life is present. The most recent large scale projects in the UK come with a requirement for a service life of 120 years. At the same time, the implementation of Eurocodes is becoming standard practice, the current provisions of which cover a service life of 50 years. On the other hand, temporary structures often do not need to be designed for a service life longer than a few years only. The present paper discusses a reliability life-cycle based methodology to adjust safety factors used in the design of tunnel linings in order to reach a specified service life, i.e. a variation of the safety factors used leading to an analogous reliability level at the start of the structures lifetime, which in turn provides a modification of the expected service life duration. As discussed herein, this procedure does not conflict the Eurocode provisions (one of the most referred standards in tunnel design) but it comes in line with the safety concept indicated in Eurocode 0 “Basis of Design”. 相似文献

This paper presents a methodology for the testing of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) in IEC 61850-based substation automation systems (SAS), without any service interruption to the end users, during the testing process. IEC 61850-based SAS provides opportunities for a new level of substation operation, enhancing operating efficiency, and protection reliability based on Ethernet-based communication networks. Due to these changes to the conventional substations, importance and dependency on IEDs is increasing rapidly. Frequency of faults occurring in the power systems is random in nature and is unpredictable. It is necessary to test and maintain the IEDs to ensure their proper operation at crucial times. This paper presents a novel methodology for testing the IEDs, without compromising the service reliability during the testing process. The proposed methodology exploits the inherit characteristics of IEC 61850 standard i.e. Network - based communication, interchangeability between multivendor IEDs, and engineering based on substation configuration language (SCL) files. With the advent of cloud computing, employing various cloud services to build highly reliable cloud applications has become increasingly popular. The trustworthiness of cloud services is a critical issue that hinders the development of cloud applications, and thus is an urgently-required research problem. Previous studies evaluate trustworthiness of services via either QoS monitoring mechanisms or user feedback ratings, while seldom they combine both of them for enhancing service trust evaluation. This paper proposes a trustworthy selection framework for cloud service selection, named TRUSS. Aiming at developing an effective trust evaluation middleware for TRUSS, we propose an integrated trust evaluation method via combining objective trust assessment and subjective trust assessment. The objective trust assessment is based on QoS monitoring, while the subjective trust assessment is based on user feedback ratings. Due to the growing stock of torrent control structures and decreasing investments, the protection level can be reduced in the long term. Therefore, the focus of the future investments has been shifted on efficiency improvement and maintenance of existing structures. The maintenance of the existing structures is necessary to ensure safety from natural hazards, which are increasing as a consequence of the climate change. Due to the increasing number of structures, there is a strong need to develop a good maintenance management for these infrastructure works. This study is based on data from the condition rating programme of the Austrian Service for Torrent and Avalanche Control. For the structures relevant in this work, 75,343 records were available. The data were examined for different construction type and construction materials. The reliability of the structures was determined by means of the Markov chain. The study describes a homogeneous Markov chain model formed by the data of the condition rating. The result of this study is a proposal for a time to failure (TTF) and a time to repair (TTR) for several construction types with different construction materials as well as the time-dependent use of construction materials in the sector of the Austrian torrent control infrastructure. 相似文献

针对长期演进(LTE)移动通信系统下行链路传输中多用户的实时(RT)与非实时(NRT)业务传输性能需求问题,提出一种基于用户加权平均时延的改进型的最大加权延时优先(MLWDF)资源调度算法。该算法在考虑信道感知与用户服务质量(QoS)感知的基础上引入反映用户缓冲区状态的加权平均时延因子,该因子通过用户缓冲区中待传输数据与已发送数据的平均时延均衡得到,使具有较大时延和业务量的实时业务优先调度,提升了用户的性能体验。理论分析与链路仿真表明,提出算法在保证各业务时延及公平性的基础上,提升了实时业务的QoS性能,在用户数量达到50的条件下,对比MLWDF算法实时业务的丢包率降低了53.2%,其用户平均吞吐量提升了44.7%,虽牺牲了非实时业务的吞吐量,但仍优于VT-MLWDF算法。实验结果表明,所提算法在多用户多业务传输条件下提升了实时业务的传输性能,并在QoS性能上明显优于对比算法。 相似文献
